Hi. Unfortunately no , as warranty ran out in June. I have a WD warranty but wouldn't be covered. I did it myself. Battery cost me under £50 and have a £50 excess on the warranty anyway. 3 years 4months does seem like a short life for a battery though.
I suspected that diagnosis and replacement with LR dealer would be at least £250 (given the LR battery equivalent - which is the same battery with an LR sticker on it), is £160 alone). Wouldn't have known where to start and what to do without this forum.
CheersGary

My start stop has not been working since I bought the vehicle 3 months ago so advised dealer after one week of ownership, they advised bring it and we will have a look, long story short but I bought it from Milton Keynes ( who advised take it to local dealer and they will pick up the bill) so took it to my local dealer Hatsfields in Liverpool who advised both batteries require replacing and with the diagnostic charge it will be £772.00
Diagnostic charge is £170 so £600 foot the two battery's ?????
Service was also terrible so no chance of using them again.
So let's see what Milton Keynes come up with now.

Hi sorry.
No need to touch/ open that little black box. Just lift up the red cover on the live terminal and undo the clamp . The red cover is very stiff and lifts from the windscreen facing side. I had to pop it up with some force using a screw driver. Be careful, screw drivers and batteries don't mix.Gary

Mine had eco light on & off for months not too worried as hardly worked since new.
But then had another fault stating gearbox paddles disabled on dash and button on steering wheel not working so cannot clear message and cruise control not working as well.
After ringing dealer to look at it no chance 7 weeks, call LRA they said and after having to state I will cancel as they said not broken down not interested they came out and diagnosis of switch broken on steering wheel common fault if paddles not used, dealer to fix later as not urgent ?????
Had then battery issues all over weekend warning critical shut down & voltage issues got local independent at short notice to check battery found its was failing got a new Exide/ LR issued £265 fitted same price as non l/r ones.
Surprise surprise all faults cleared including paddle fault So is this a new development LRA can't fault battery issue causing gearbox problems...

Just looking for confirmation that the auxiliary Exide EK151 AGM battery is definitely ok on a MY14 D4.
As two separate searches I did (inputting my reg) states it's not suitable for a MY14 SUV 3.0 SDV6.

Got my Exide EK151 delivered today from Tanya's eBay webshop for just £39.96 in total.
(It's £39.99 + £7.97 p&p direct from their website)
Just re-checked their eBay shop and it's now jumped up to £49.95.
So with battery now fitted and with "stop start" now functioning, I'm doubly happy. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
