Before splashing out on the can interface you should try connecting a relay to the shutter, it will need to be a latching relay though.
If that doesn’t route you could use a separate switch for the spot lights, although I’d prefer it on my main beam stalk as well.
Does anyone know if there any options within the D4 CCF file to have LR option/approved spotlights fitted (if such an approved retrofit even exists) If so, that might lead you to identifying the best way to hook them up.

The CANM8 that could use the ODB extension rather than contactless costs approximately £50 so its nothing when compared to the cost of the Lazers.
Does your D4 have a warranty?

Argh disaster !! No problem will resort to head scratching, will probably go down the canbus induction route, rather than cutting/splicing the wiring.... time will tell.
