|
Any idea what bit of life is left once that warning comes on? Trying to get someone to sort but it could be a week or so, a couple of hundred miles of mixed driving.

Depends how often and how hard you press the peddle 
P.S. don’t use the park brake to stop as you may go through the windscreen  It can when others can't,

Remember that the sensor is on one pad (the inner on the D3, not sure about the D4) and that the two pads may not wear at the same rate. I changed my rear pads last weekend and one outer was down to the metal, while the inner had not reached the point where the warning came on. Yours might be wearing much more evenly, but you can't know without dismantling, so I'd say if the warning is on, then it is an ASAP task. Previously:
