GVIF Install Settings
Hi all,
This is my first post on the UK site so thanks for any help in advance
I have a GVIF model QVI-GF08-V8.0 U
Having spent some time trying to get the DIP switch settings to work
It is time to ask for help
I have the installation instructions from Disco3UK Resource V1.2
These settings are based on Model 6.2
So the question is has anybody installed the V8.0 or similar and would be able to tell me the Dip switch settings used
My model is the HSE with DVD nav installed

If instructions did not come with it try google the number on the box
Why do you think the settings need to be changed anyway?
Is something not working.
Usually you have to power it down for changes to take effect.

Thanks for the prompt reply Pete K
No instructions with the unit, it was set with only the switch 7 down ( on ), and no nav available
After trying many variations of settings, with car going to sleep, turned out it was one of the gvif
plugs the wrong way around, problem solved.
But the remote is not working ( cordless) so I can’t adjust any settings, one of which is the camera is showing a reverse image to normal ( image flipped left to right ).
Any suggestions
Les

I was going to say that Put some paint marks on connectors to show correct orientation
Image flip will need sorting at the camera. (once you are sure its wrong! - Have you got it fitted at the rear ? )
Usually there Is a tiny wire loop coming out, and you cut this to flip it.
Some have a wire to cut to remove reversing lines.
On My eye ball one, I also had to rotate 180° if fitted pointing down.
I had issues with my remote not working. TUrned out I need to connect the CAN wires to the rear of the nav unit.
The Nav hard button should also cycle thru Av1 Av2 NAV etc when can connected

Thanks to your help all is sorted
The camera i rotated 180 and it flipped the image left to right (who would have thought )
The Remote i now won't need, and i can live without bendy lines
Tidied up the wiring this morning before it got too hot ( 41 and 44 for the weekend )
Thanks again, and i hope i can help somebody 1 day.

@ Gandalf
Hi, I'll be doing the same in a few days with the same version.
Can you give a bit more info on the 'connect CAN wires to the rear of the nav unit' please?
Cheers'

I am looking at potentially getting a QVI-GF08 and I was just wondering if there was any existing wiring for a rear camera or whether it needed to be installed from scratch?
Thanks

Can you sense a theme here?
Mind you the 2.25 Petrol Series II with Series III wings for quad headlights, high power alternator conversion and a few other bits and bobs does rather break the theme

Add a rear ladder while you’re at it, won’t have to do the job twice especially if the bolts are
