New Owner With Questions
Hi all, new 2010 3.0 TDV6 Disco HSE owner here. Love the car, have wanted one for ages and it's perfect for me and my family. I have a few questions if people would be so kind as to help:
1. The only gripe I have is with the low-speed hesitation that sometimes occurs. I gather from the internet that this is normal. Is this something that anyone has been able to fix, with a remap or other modifications?
2. I got a 'Restricted Performance' error message on a run last night - the car then accelerated less slowly but would still do 85mph the legal speed limit, but did struggle on the hills. After restarting the car, the error disappeared and has yet to reoccur. It may be coincidence but we were using the fridge, satnav, rear entertainment, and aircon at the time - could it be that this was too much? Should I get it investigated, or just see how it goes?
3. Does anyone have any recommendations for good independents in the Southampton area to look after my new pride and joy?
4. Are there any neat ways of separating one half of the load area when six seats are up? There is plenty of space but I'm not happy to have items loose in case of an accident and there is only one place I can see to fix a net to so that doesn't really work.
He is always very busy, so for routine servicing book well in advance.

Hi Dean and welcome.
DO you have the 6 speed or the 8 speed box ? That might have a bearing on 1. Re 2, that's quite common and there are quite a few threads on possible causes.
I can't help with much of what you are asking I'm afraid, but I'd recommend the search facility on here, it's very good. Use * for wildcarding and + in front of a word if you have multiple words you want to be sure appear in a message.

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies.
NJSS - I live in Sholing but work in Bishops Waltham, so Waltham Chase is pretty convenient.
Brian - it's the 6 speed.
Jubbly - I have quickly got into that habit myself, but have still experienced the hesitation once or twice even doing this.
on the one with the issue, the slightest touch of side of shoe on the brake pedal stopped it accelerating.
must be programmable in my opinion but not sure how..
Dean

Oh mine does that if i catch the brake peddle, very annoying, it's like a 2cv for what seems like ages, but's probably less than 5 seconds.
