Replacement Battery
I’m experiencing some electrical issues on start up/soon after start up.
Hdc fault, normal height only and now the amber suspension light comes in when I first press the brakes after starting and setting off.
I have this battery fitted to my 5 series, can I try it in the disco to see if that cures my issues?

I don't see why not.
But battery problems usually give warning lights as soon as the car is started and quickly disappear.
If it's hitting the brakes that causes it, check the brake light switch and fit good quality bulbs. Both of which give a lot of problems on the D3.
Reverse up to a white wall. And test the brake lights work as you would expect on a dark and cold morning. (by looking in your mirror)
or whenever you get the symptoms

Cheers, I’ve got a new switch on its way as we speak but I was curious if this battery was the right power etc for the car.

So today I went to swap the battery out with my bmw battery. The battery I removed was a cheap brand but a 017 battery, from a quick scan of euro’svthis Battery type/size is:
88AH
680CCA
Is this too low for a D3?

Look for an Exide EA1000 Premium or Yuasa either the Silver or Black series.
What's currently installed (88Ah, 680CCA ) is undersized for the application.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

The one I have is CCA (SAE) 900 and 019 type. Off the cuff I would say 680 is a bit low. If you check any battery manufacturer’s configurator I would imagine you’re going to get something similar for diesels as what I have in my petrol.

Cheers guys, my gut was telling me it was low.
It starts the car ok but when it’s cold I always get the usual hdc warnings etc.
