2.7 tdv6 engine

Hi all newbie here, a few questions if anyone can answer please. I have a jaguar 2.7 tdv6 and just wanted to know if it will go in a disco 3? I know/heard that a few items will need swapping over but is this correct? Also can the engine 2.7 tdv6 come out of the disco from the engine bay opposed to lifting the body off? All answers much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies, i have a jaguar s type tdv6 06 plate with mint engine but a good few other issues but been looking at disco's with engine issues as you can get them quite cheap so was thinking if i could get a knackered d3 which requires an engine then i would take engine out of jag and put in d3? Your thoughts please?

Yeah it's possible.

Need a good LR turbo
And exhaust cross over pipe. These are expensive!

So you need one with engine, not missing one.

There is a thread on here somewhere about engine replacement without body removal.
Will try and find tomorrow

Hi all, another question regarding swapping my engine over, will i be able to use the same wiring harness i.e plugs/caps etc be the same or will they require changing/modding?
Thanks.

THE crankcase and heads are the same.

EVERYTHING else is different, apart from EU3 HPFP and fuel rails...

use the wiring loom to match the car.

What you need to imagine, is that you are taking a different engine, and you need to strip all the bits off the sides until its a lump of metal engine block and heads.
And then bolt the LR bits on.

I'f you start with this is mind you won't go far wrong.
Obviously some bits will be the same.
