I think the cables ties are for a very rough prototype. Looking at the rest of the range from them I can't imagine cable ties being in the final product.

I have xb300 boot basket and I think it's great. It allows me to pack things high on top of it against the dog guard allowing plenty space underneath to save everything getting buried. Looking forward to the upper boot basket.
Do I think it's expensive?
No, a lot of effort has gone into this and it serves a great purpose for my needs.
I also have a windomatic thing for the spare wheel, this is a steel box with a gear mechanism in it, its about 9 or 10 inches long which allows me to wind down the spare whilst having a full boot.
Was it expensive? £70
Is it worth it? Hell yes, because Sod's law you'll get a puncture whist fully loaded and it will be raining.
I think the point I'm trying to make is, if you can use any accessorie to its full potential then it's worth what ever it's cost!16ltr V8 600hp - gone

I have had a 600 and now have a 450. Think they are brilliant bits of kit and well worth the money. No question about it!D3 07 SE - still going strong

The picture with the cable ties being used as hinges is a rough prototype model that Stu has been working on and as people requested photos he released a couple so people could see what the initial idea was going to look like.
I have a Mantec load lugga, it is ok but the couple of issues I have with it are,
1. Bits dropping out at the rear,
2. Getting things in and out as it is a fixed to the roof
That roof basket that Stu is designing with the fold down part would suit me better and fix both of the issues that I have with mine, I don’t believe anything will fall out as the roof basket will only open so much.Goodyear Duratracs

I have the exact same issues with my Mantec device, which is why i was very pleased to hear about these coming out. Can't wait for them to arrive. Already pre-ordered mine and should be in the first batch D3 07 SE - still going strong
