Going to look at a disco 3 :-) any hidden faults

Hi all

I'm going to look at and hopefully buy my first discovery 3 on Friday. Is there anything I should look out for, ie any common rust to look at of any electrical faults to check for.

The car is a 2009 (59) HSE in metallic black with heated steering wheel and all the usual toys. It's done 140k
Cheers Adrian

How long have you got?
Plenty of info on here. At that mileage everything will have had a chance to have gone wrong and been replaced. You might be lucky. Look for a big sheaf of bills.

Search the D3 forums for inspection lists, they will aid you. There are many different ones, some more comprehensive than others. My suggestion would be to be very thorough in evaluating the vehicle and if it seems iffy to walk away. Hope this helps.

Thanks I'll have a look at the lists.
I'm under no allusion that I won't be under the car most weekends. I've heard all the horror stories and I'm prepared to either do the work myself or get my mechanic involved when needed.
I'm a car enthusiast, my last 3 cars I've bought for pennies and fixed all the faults, knocks and bumps, then I get bored after 2 or 3 years and still sell it for peanuts.
I've come to the conclusion that if I don't buy the fun cars now the government will eventually ban them all. I've had fun in a 3.2l diesel now its time for a 4x4 before we are all forced into driving Toyota prius economy cars.
