D or Drive Light on Continously
Please can somebody help!
I search through several posts but have had no joy.
I have been driving around for about 4 months now with no Command Shift, the gearbox works fine in auto just not in manual.
The D on the gear selector stays on 24/7!
I have taken up the left hand carpet and pulled the wiring loom apart and found several spices but not taken them a part as they look fine.
I know several people have had the same issue but I've yet to find the solution! So your help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

I assume that all other indication is correct - PRND when moving lever.
Under the cover of the gearshift lever is a PCB with magnets on it. There is also a cable plugged in at the side. When you move the lever sideways it triggers via a magnet into sport mode - indicator shows "D" when moved to + or - it will move to that gear if the TCM will allow it, if not it stays in the original gear. Maybe a system reset will fix it or you may have a gear selection problem.

Thank Globetrotter for your info.
Looking at the attached photo I have circled where I believe there should be a small magnet but cannot see anything. Am I correct in thinking that the magnet is missing! Hence why I cannot change gear?

An update for you,
I have done a hard reset which cleared the glowing D on the gear selector (which is illuminated 24/7! Even when the vehicle is locked!). As soon as I turn the ignition on and start the engine, the information screen says there is a transmission fault and the D is once again continuously illuminated.😤
Can anyone tell me if I’m missing a magnet? Although I wouldn’t of thought that would cause the transmission fault until you move the selector into Command Shift. 🤔

Resetting removes the error then comes back sounds like you need to find what the code is.

There are a number of fault codes but I’m guessing this is the one that counts! U0155

"U" codes are information type ones it's the "P" or "C" that cause the problem. I cannot read the "P" one

The P116 is possibly the temp sensor or faulty thermostat. The P018C feeds the TCM and is more than likely the problem. This can be as simple as the connector on the side of the shift lever mech being dirty or corroded or not seated properly. There is also a splice in the right hand door sill that can give this code.
Best I can suggest, but it does look electrical.
