EGR Blanking on an 08 Euro 4 engine
Hi D3s
I have a Egr fault on a 08 Euro 4 - Blanking kit ? Software path?
Right hand EGR fault (closed I presume as no lack of power))
LR specialists say they can blank and remap my 57 plate 08 D3.
Blank off (Leaving Egrs in place) - remove buterfly - remap it all - seems too simple. Will the EGR light stay on? I'm now reading a patch is needed as well.
Any advice welcome please as I would like this done soon or I bottle it and buy a new EGR valve and fit for approx. £350 LR specialist and then wait for the other one to go!

Thanks - did you need the remap or just the patch - I'm hearing the patch is to ensure Engine Management Light stays off.

The patch (eg the one available from BAS which can be applied with an IID tool) is to turn off the EML. If you don't apply the patch the EML will likely come on after a couple of restarts. You can clear it with a diagnostic tool but it will come on again if you don't have the patch applied.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Is your euro4 equipped with DPF?
in this case EGRs are mandatory to permit DPF cleaning or you will need also the software patch to remove the DPF and fit a strait pipe - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

Beware, any sign of removing or tampering with the DPF will result in an MOT failure.

Fortunately DPF wasnt standard on the D3 in the UK so unless you are really unlucky and its a special order one this shouldnt be a problem Must stop buying shiny toys....

Thanks,
My VIN says no DPF fitted, just worried about voiding my warranty if I do it.

Its unlikely to create any other problems if done correctly and at least once its done you wont have to do them again - make sure they shim them and refit the pipes though or you will have issues at the MOT test after MayMust stop buying shiny toys....
