When's delivery expected?
Salesman couldn’t say, but given that I have had a deposit down since November 2016 and have gone for the First Edition (which will have been the focus of the build programs to date), I’m hoping for June/July/August. Hope the time goes quickly for you. I bought a Nissan Leaf just after Christmas as I wanted to see what life was like using an electric car and my eyes have been opened. Exciting time ahead
Looking at the design, the battery appears to be an integral part of the car, and in effect irreplaceable.
Not a problem in the first few years of the car's life, but I wonder what the residual value will be towards the end of the 8 year battery guarantee?
My gut feeling is that at 9 >10> years one could be looking at scrap value; that's a lot of depreciation.

Edited to add:-
It looks like a great car, and I might well be interested in one in 2-4 years time when the teething issues have been resolved. I wonder what Warrantee Direct's terms will be for a warrantee to say 120k miles?Am I Gammon or Woke ? - I neither know nor care.

I don't think it would be as bleak as you make out. Even after 10 years I'd expect the battery to be at least 80% useable, so over 200 mile range is hardly scrapable. Although the battery "case" is integral, the battery cells could well be replaceable and even if JLR didn't offer replacements then I'd expect some enterprising individuals might try.

The Achilles heel for my use is still "refuelling" times. 168 added miles for an hour on a 50kW charger doesn't sound too bad but 22 miles/hour charging in "industrial" outlet (three phase?) and up 7 miles/hour charging from a domestic wall outlet (say when visiting a rellie). Are the chargers you see at motorway service stations 50kW ones or is that the equiv of the Tesla Supercharge points? They would turn my typical 10 hour drive to 12 hours, a PITA but not too bad s'pose to save da polar bears. If not then it's an overnight stop, and then some more charging later on, to do the job that's a few minutes at the pump. I don't care for polar bears that much.

You can charge at around 18mph from a domestic charger, so a full charge takes 14 hours. In other words, an overnight charge takes care of most needs. On occasions you will need to take a charge on the road, with current infrastructure at 50kWh meaning a charge time of around 90 minutes. 100kW chargers are coming (Tesla already have them but it is a closed system), which will reduce this to 45 minutes; how often do you drive 300 miles+ without stopping for a sandwich and coffee (45 minutes if you savour your food ).An ex-Disco3 / FFRR owner ......

Fairly often. I do average miles but most of that is trips of 500 - 600 miles. I don't mind range of 250 miles (50 reserve), bit like driving a V8, but having to sit there's watching a cup of rotten coffee going cold for a couple of hours at a service station is not something I'd look forward to. Plus I don't seem to recall that service station food was that good that it's worth savouring.
The leaf I got is 30kWh and so a third of the iPace. For 99.99% of my journeys the range(100-120 miles) is no issue. For the 0.01% then I use the other cars Seriously; longer ranges are reasonably good with a bit of planning. The fast charger the leaf can use is 50KW and will give 80% charge in about 30 minutes. The charging network in this country is still cr@p but will get you around albeit not as quickly as an ICE vehicle due to stops. Personally I wouldn't want to do a 500 mile trip in the leaf as that would be too many charges (people do and have though) but the iPace could do it with one and so would be a much better prospect. Who wouldn't want a reasonable break after 250 miles?

I tend to look at it that a half hour stop is half hour I could be at home with SWMBO & dogs. I generally do the trip with one fuel stop and a couple of wee stops (drinking too much coffee). I know I'm a-typical and would genuinely be interested in PHEV if they could just crack the problem of recharge time. 5 minutes to add 500 miles more range is a hard act to follow though.
