Recent MPG

Went on a road trip to Scotland two days ago, was well impressed with the MPG.
Sat on the motor like driving miss daisy, cruise set at 60 mph. Trip computer returned 42 mpg.
What do you guys think of that

Don't believe it's got anything to do with reality. I do a lot of cruising at 60mph and log real fuel numbers, if everything is working as it should do expect 32 - 34mpg. In winter that's 10% lower. The trip isn't called the lie-o-meter for nothing.

And with this pic I rest my case m'lud. Thumbs Up

On a trip from Hamburg to Calais I got 34 mpg and from Dover to home here in Wiltshire I got 27mpg
CC was only practical on the autobahns and drivers either moved over when I flashed them or I moved over when I was flashed and not once did I get anything other than a friendly wave of thanks.
Try that in UK and you are more than likely to get a middle finger salute.
The point I am trying to get over is that with CC at a steady 80mph and straight well kept roads 34mpg is do-able but on our roads with bends, single lanes, variable speed limits and rough surfaces - no chance.

I don't know what MY15s are like but until I adjusted my mpg readout via the IID she was reading by about ~15%. Only real numbers are fuel in vs miles done. Thumbs Up

Although I've hardly used a drop of petrol in the past three weeks, just city driving, I think 974.3 mpg is a little ambitious.......Whistle

And before anyone asks, yes, I do miss the comfort of the Discovery.

I must confess I do miss the comfort of the D3 & D4. Sitting on a thin wallet is always more comfy than a fat one. Whistle Whistle
