FBH

FBH suppose to switch on auto if the temp outside is below 7deg and/ coolant is less than 75deg but if the air con and blowers are switch off should the FBH still come on with the engine running of course
Any ideas cheers

Fbh only works if the fans are turned on. All the information you need is on the wiki page.

Pete.

Confusing now Mick is saying yes! Is that yes it should still fire up with all the air con and fans off or yes to Petes answer? Confused

My fbh fires up regardless. If fans aren't on engine still needs to get up to temp.

It starts automatically if within certain parameters to assist in warming the engine up to improve emissions, the heater fans have no effect on it at all.

Tried mine this morning with the fans off for about 3or4 mins thinking it would heat up quicker, but when I switched the fans on I got cold air, checked the exhaust pipe and it was cold so obviously didn't fire up
Got back in the car turned on the air con and fans on and got warm air coming out in next to no time
Hence my query!

The fbh will only work while the heater control panel is on, but doesn’t matter what setting it’s on. If the “off” light is lit up then the fbh will not fire up.
