Smart Key battery replacement
I alternate the use of both my keys so that I have recent knowledge they both work.
Key 2 recently initiated the smart key battery low warning.
So I tried a new battery in Key 2 - battery low warning.
I put the same new battery in key 1 - No warning.
I put Key 1 original battery in Key 2. Battery low warning.
Bought a new battery from Tool Station. Tried it in Key 2 - Battery low warning.
Tried same battery in Key 1. No warning.
Bought a long dated Duracell battery. Put in Key 2 - No warning. Sanity is restored.
It's been mentioned on the forum before but mine is another example - these keys are exceptionally sensitive to good quality batteries!

Replaced the original batts in the fobs when car was 5 and a bit years old, was getting the low battery warnings. For princely sum of £1.10 will get another twin pack of them and bung them in the bits & bobs kit in the car.

What type of batteries do the take? Might pick up some spares tooGary

Just used one to stop the "low battery" warning and have a couple in the car in case I get the warning whilst out and about.
If you test the battery that didn't fix your issue and voltage is correct, give it a good wipe and retry it.
If voltage is low … take it back and get a refund.

That's fairly typical in my experience. I think that the more I experience Land Rover servicing the more I feel I should demand the checklist used and that each item carried out is ticked . Unfortunately my experience at LR is that there is simply no attention to detail. Having that would also boost confidence.
I have had issues with my first two services, and if I had had this confirmed checklist when I collected the car I could have queried it and got it sorted then and there.
No doubt there will be a feedback request. Use it.Gary
