Cost of replacement - prop shaft bearing |
|
Hi all,
I've looked through most of the threads on this and have seen the price of the actual prop shaft which seems to be around the £220 incl. VAT.
Has anyone paid to have this fitted at their local indie? I haven't been able to work out an all in (part + labour) price to have this done?
Just wondering what sort of prices the forum members have paid so I can go to my local indie with an idea of what he should be charging me.
Thanks!

Thanks Disco_Mikey!
It was pointed out to me that it was beginning to go at the last service so I wanted to start saving the pennies now.
Any idea if this bearing might also be the cause of a 'clunk' when I go from Park to Reverse when parked on a steep slope? I always engage the hand brake and try to make sure that takes the load rather than the gearbox but I often get a bit of a knock when it goes into reverse anyway.
