IronMan,
I've been running them since May and am really pleased with them. Had once incident in Botswana where I blistered the sidewall so I sent the offending tyre back to Continental who confirmed it was my error. Had to try though You'll find lots more comments in the wheels section under Grabber AT2 impressions or something like that.
At the end of the day they cost about the same as the equivalent HT tyre and are vastly more capable off road. If your Disco only sees tar (and I know yours doesn't) then stick with HT's, but otherwise go for the Grabbers.
As an alternative some guys are buying STT's in 17" with aftermarket rims which they swop every time they do some off-roading or overlanding. I'm too lazy for that so the Grabbers are a perfect foil, good for everyday use and off-road excursions.

Are your tyres 17" or 18"?

18"
The Grabbers were the only AT's (at the time) to come out in 255/60/18

Rob.
Thanks for your input. What did you pay for the Grabbers? I assume you bought 5?!! I have heard figures of R4k per tyre.

R2500 each, Andrew.
Got a very good price from the guy we buy all our personal and company tyres from (a HiQ franchise). HiQ in Centurion had them at 2900 a couple of months ago so get hold of a HiQ dealer in CT - maybe they can do a better price. 4k is a bit heavy, I'll bet that was from TWT because TWT Pmburg quoted me 3.8k each. Either way 18" tyres ain't cheap here.
I bought 5, f ed up one, so am on 4 at the moment. I'm heading up to Namibia next year so might even buy 2 more so that I have two spares. After I blistered my tyre north of Maun I had to drive 2000km's back to Durban, via Nxai Pan, effectively spare-less. Not pleasant, hence the probable need for 6 tyres.

One of the main reasons that I changed to 17 " was availabilty or lack thereof of 18 " North of the border. I picked up 6 aftermarket rims for just over 6 k and my coopers cost about 2k each . So not much differance to buying 18 " tyres . My 2 c

Heine - where did you get the aftermarket rims from?
Ironman - I have been using the AT's for 2 years now - I imported a set from the UK for my D2 ES as i needed some decent tyres in 18" - I landed 6 tyres in Ct for 9k - bargain in my opinion. When i sold my D2 I moved them onto the LR3 and I guess that they have now done about 40 thou Km's in total without any problems. I used them for a Richtersveld trip a few months back and they stood up to the sharp rocks very well and I guess that with correct rotation the full set of 6 are probably good for another 30-40 thou kms?
Anybody looking for 4 newish wranglers HP's - probably done 5000kms as I have a set in Ct that I want to get rid of?

Grabbers at customs ?
Tyger Wheel and Tyre got a shipment in last week. My name is on six.
They lost my June order.
I am told that my AT2 Grabbers is coming to Cape town soon from PE.
But they have a customs problem, they say ..
When (if) it arrives, I will file my full report ...

Heine,
About a month back I looked into the STT's (just for interest's sake). My tyre dealer couldn't even give me a price on them because there was no stock available (in KZN at least). I think it's a SA problem that when you buy more specialised tyres in the larger rim sizes you're going to struggle to get a regular supply. That's why you buy 6
