So, a bit further down the line a few jobss jobbed

Wheel protector fitted. Spare wheel is in a right state though.

Faraday key pouches in use. Keyless entry is great and I’m not disabling that function. Love it.

Dog guard and cage in progress just making some brackets due to originals missing.
IId2 tool bought but not used yet.

Towed the tin box a couple of times.

Still having a palava with the garage though, replacing 2 dodgy cameras today hopefully. But the fault code that drops it into limp home mode when towing cannot be replicated when not towing. So they want to give it back to me. It’s taken 6 weeks to get to this stage and I’m starting to get Censored off.
Off to Italy with the tin box in a week and don’t really want it to drop into limp home mode every hill.
Not sure wether I should formally start the rejection procedure. Don’t really want to as it’s anlovely car 95% of the time.
Any advice welcome? Going to try and get the fault codes off the garage.

If it goes into limp home mode it could be a split intercooler hose or possibly a split intercooler but they tend not to split - check to see if there is and mud/blockage in the fins as that could also be the problem.

Also it might be as simple as a fuel filter that needs replacing so give that a go - other than that you need the fault codes but your IID tool will give them to you so get it plugged in when the fault occurs Thumbs Up
"UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Just returned from a 3000 mile trip round Italy and France.
Mainly towing the caravan so worked it hard.
Still enjoying it apart from the fault reoccurring.

At least he IID tool has earn't its keep and even the Mrs agrees it was worth the expense! Every cloud and all that.

So after a right palaver with the supplying dealer and finally getting the car back 1 day before the holiday (stressful times) without the fault fixed, I've now got the following fault codes regularly appearing;
P0033-00 - TURBOCHARGER/SUPERCHARGER BYPASS VALVE CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN.
P004D-77 - TURBO/SUPERCHARGER BOOST CONTROL SOLENOID b - CIRCUIT HIGH - MECHANICAL FAILURE - COMMANDED POSITION IS NOT REACHABLE.

Had more limp home mode situations than I can remember in all driving conditions. Uphill/downhill, loaded unloaded, hot/cold. etc etc. Nothing that can help narrow it down.
The faults also seem to occur without sending it into limp home mode.

Anybody got any clues? I've seen a couple of threads which suggest it might be the bypass valve or solenoid for the same.

Either way, its going back to LR. After an honest review (trust pilot) on the service I received I received prompt attention from various people both at head office and the dealership. Hopefully they will now sort this out properly.
If they cannot fix it or mess me around, I'll be asking to hand it back.

Also it's only averaging 20mpg towing and not. This is from calculated fill to fill not the dash. Not sure if this is related but a lot lower than I was expecting. My D2 got 25 all day long. I was hoping the D4 would be better.
I'm not really investigating this further until the above issue is resolved by LR in case it is related.

Any advice welcome.

Oh and I played with the CCF files and nearly had a heart attack during the re-boot stage. The number of warning lights is terrifying. That's even after reading other peoples warnings! Laughing
