IID Tool - Check number of keys programmed
Hi
Im interested to know if there is any way to check on the IID if a previous owner has had any previous additional keys programmed to either a D3 or D4 - Im interested to see if I have all of the keys for the vehicle. I know you can reprogram keys with the IID but cant see a list of the keys for the vehicle anywhere.Must stop buying shiny toys....

Interested to see how it’s done. I could go out to the car & plug in the IID but vino is flowing and free Nespresso chocs are being scoffed.
And not worried about previous owner, it was my mum.

There is a specific function to check how many keys are currently coded to the car. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!
MY2012 D4 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - retired to a new home

As JonM said, the IID Tool will tell you how many keys have been programmed. At the moment it is VIN locked, but I did put in a request to Pat at GAP for it not to be. That way, if you were buying a vehicle, you could check before purchase and make sure that you got the number of keys tha had been programmed.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT
D4 MY13 HSE Lux - RLD/IID BT
P38 RR - Sad parting
110 - Even sadder parting
S3 88" - Still going strong after 23 years of ownership

Can you not just reprogramme the keys you have so any extras will no longer work?
I mention it as this is how it works on some of the trucks Ive done, what then happens is the extras not programmed will physically open the vehicle via the mechanical door lock and may even crank the engine but it will not start.

It’s good to know it can be done. Any clue how to get to where it is would be helpful
