Kingscote, I'm having a little trouble understanding from your original post what mode you're using. If you're driving on ice or snow, with GGS dialled in, and the car still feels unsure, then it sounds like you have a tyre problem. I've driven my D3 on quite a bit of (European) snow now and it feels the most sure footed car I've ever owned? (And thats with standard Pirelli Scorpions) 2005 D3 HSE

What CC said, best car on snow/ice here in the mountains that I've ever driven. Just remember, traction control 4WD can get you going, but stopping you have only the same help as any other car with ABS/DSC. With 2.7 T to stop on snow/ice
1) Never go too fast
2) Get proper winter tyres There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
