That's just some fingergrease only picture I took, cleaned it up now. The cut is straight and clean against the edge of the housing, like a stress fracture. Soldering these things is not easy.
Will glue the flex cable on the board, sand off the top layer and use a conductive glue to connect. Then glue it against the sensor housing. Meaning the joint will be pressed between the parts.

Nice to have friends with soldering skills. Now just to wait for some parts. New bracket for the module, cable fixtures etc.
