DLR setting

Hi
Just upgraded new version xenon headlight(after 2014) from old ver(2013)and set idd tool
- Car config - Day running light standard - enable

But there is no change after that...
I saw youtube and followed up accordingly but i don’t know why it’s not working
Please help me.. Thanks in advance

and for your reference,
when I set canadian DLR or scandinavian DLR,
xenon lamp is working on all light mode ( 0, DLR, headlight, auto mode)

I want DLR works in day time on auto mode
and want xenon lamp works in dark time on auto mode

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but I'll try.

On my 2011 TDV6 I had Xenon headlights as an upgrade. I used an IIDTool to turn on the DLR to Scandinavian (both front and read lights are on). On top of that, I always had my headlights in auto. With the exception when the car came back from a service where they would have desperately tried to turn off the headlights but failed Rolling with laughter

For my vehicle, the Xenons used to be on all the time but during the day I think they work at a lesser light output. Certainly when going into tunnels during the day you would notice the green headlight indicator coming on, the Xenons would get brighter.

So the Xenons would be on all the time. In later models I think they started using the "fairy lights" as DLR, I'm not sure with which model that changed.

I hope that answers your question?

Yes they are the "fairy lights". But they would be on all the time, which is what DLR (Day Light Running) light do. They don't turn off, so no auto on/off setting for them.

But when I set DLR standard via iid tool, there’s no change and no fairy light in day time. It’s just same as before.

Other configuration can affect DLR standard..??

I think the issue at hand is that it cannot be configured in CCF. Instead, need to wire some. See https://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic121169.html.

nope no extra wiring required for this - but you will need an additional relay to make the full beam flash work when the main beam is off, as the new lights are a single light source as apposed to the old unit that had a totally separate source for full beam

I've just done this conversion myself. The Scandinavian mode just puts the side lights on, so the signature strip will be lit but very dimly - as they are when the side lights are on

I just turned the daylight running setting on and it all worked, so not too sure what is going on with yours

Another side note, if you do turn the DRLs on at full brightness they don't dim with the indicator either, again there's a wire missing somewhere that the pre-2014 doesn't need

I bought it as a kit but fitted it myself, wasn't hard

It just sends a feed to the light itself when the stock wiring activates the flash flap inside the unit

I was planning on doing a guide as quite a few people on the Facebook group were asking about it, but it was so simple it wasn't worth the hassle. The instructions were simple enough and covered it all well

Your below setting is what I want!

Can't I set below via IID TOOL ??

1) Headlamp switch in position 0 (off) and ignition on = front LEDs only will be illuminated
2) Headlamp switch in position 1 (sidelights) and ignition on = front LEDs and rear tail lights illuminated
3) Headlamp switch in position 2 (headlights) and ignition on = front LEDs, headlights and rear tail lights illuminated
4) Headlamp switch in position 3 (auto) and ignition on = as per (1) if light sensor detects its light and as per (3) if light sensor detects its dark

To have just the front LED but no tail lights is I believe the Canadian DRL setting. Have you tried that?

the order you mention there is what the "Daylight Running" option on IID does. I tried them all and that was the only one that lit the front only.

From memory the Canadian setting was very similar to the Scandinavian settings, but didn't light the dashboard up too

Found it, I was close

DRL CANADIAN MARKET
DRL for this market use full intensity low beam headlamps. The side marker lamps, tail lights, and license plate lamps will be on, but instrument cluster illumination will be off.

NOTE:
When DRL are active, the headlamp flash function using the left hand steering column multifunction switch will operate normally. The high beam headlamp function using the left hand steering column multifunction switch will be deactivated.

DRL DENMARK, HOLLAND, NORWAY, SWEDEN, FINLAND & POLAND
DRL for these markets use full intensity low beam headlamps. Side lamps and license plate lamps will be on, but instrument cluster illumination will be off.

NOTE:
When DRL are active, the headlamp flash function using the left hand steering column multifunction switch will operate normally. The high beam headlamp function using the left hand steering column multifunction switch will be deactivated.

d) If the lighting control switch is moved to the side lamp or headlamp positions, DRL are deactivated and normal side lamp and headlamp functionality is operational.

Powerful UK also did a Youtube video that shows some of the IID menu if you're still struggling with it

Scandinavian Lights

Hi all,

Is there anyone in the Banbury area or passing that could enable Scandinavian lights for me on my D4.

Thanks.
