Why the....
......
Last night, it was at that point when it is almost getting too dark to do anything, when I pulled up at the house, and SWMBO said there's a bulb out on my D4.
Checked, and it was side light. Haven't had to change any bulbs yet..That's fine, I have a spare. Went and found it...exactly where I left it...on the side!!
Don't need a torch do I? Doubt it, should be straight forward.
10 mins and getting darker.
OK. I give in. I'll get the handbook.
Found the right page, on how to remove the headlight. No tools required .....
What to you mean.....remove the grille.......
Ahhhh...Grille has to come off to get to the other fastener. Nifty security....
Another 5 mins to get Grille off, as I didn't want to snap it.
Headlight out....Yay...
How do I get side light out? OK get a torch.
WHAT THE
Who the builds a car where the headlight comes out, then you have to remove the bracket that holds the headlight in, just to change a little bulb.
I mean....come on.
Dark. Annoyed. it. Can't be bothered to get the socket set out the locked garage. Put back together and go to bed. So much for getting home,a quiet sit down before bed, then a relaxing sleep.
There....got it out of my system.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

I keep this handy little screwdriver in the car for popping the grille off.

The D4 is dawdle compared to the my Velar where the whole bumper has to come off. Definitely need a torch for that job.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Sadly … this is nothing new. VX Carlton was bumper off to get headlamps out. Had to have new headlamps in one and the garage decided they could do it without … they cracked one and didn't let on. Thankfully I noticed it as soon as I got home and they didn't put up any fight when I insisted they change it again at their expense.
