EPB - whats going on?
My EBP had a slight squeal at the end of its travel so I used Bodsy's bible to adjust the hand brake shoes.
Both did not look too bad before I started but I noticed the driver's side looks like it has not been working as there was crud on the brake surface. This is the same corner that the anti roll bar link was broken some time ago together with the wire support that holds the hand brake cable.
Finished the adjustment and used the handbrake a dozen times in succession then got a brake warning with flashing red & amber lights
IID tool showed a brake temperature warning with the dash displaying park break fault system not functional
Please can someone point me to what's going on and how can I clear it

Over temp is normal for 10+ pulls in succession, nothing to worry about My D3 Build Thread

Ok & thanks for the temperature answer
Now just need to understand why the EBP will not pull on
Checked Fuse 8 and that's ok so could it be a seized cable or have I knackered the EPB module?
Did you strip down and clean the shoes making sure nothing is seized or jammed like the epb module?.

Thanks Flack the short answer was no, just removed the discs and checked everything was where it should of been assuming it just needed adjusting.
The post was to make sure I had not over looked something like a reset. it was working before I rapidly pressed the switch up & down so I guess the module is now mullered which is a lesson not to leave a noisy EBP too long.
P.S. its not jammed on its just will not operate either way

I have replaced the EPB module and it now drives the cables in & out . . . . . . . unfortunately one cable came unclipped from the shoe and its too short to reconnect how do I extend the cable to get it reconnected

So found out what I was doing wrong :-
One of the handbrake return springs had a tiny section of the end broken off and this is what holds the cable trap door shut. so when the new cable calibrated itself it pushed the end out of the retainer then tried to drag the excess back up the cable - all sorted now

I have just replaced my cables and adjusted the brakes today, tested and everything was fine. I then re-applied the handbrake and the passenger side went bang, and after stripping it back down the cable came out of the catch and now is too short to re-attached, same as your issue.
How did you get the cable to extend, so that I can re-attach to the shoe?
