We’re going to be selling our 2006 Elddis Avante 556 6 berth,I think, our 2 kids are now too big for the end bunks!
We’ve found it a great open layout with plenty of space in the daytime.
2 end bunks, side dinette which makes into 2 bunks and front bunks make into a double bed.
It would be worth checking the floor plan out it may suit your needs.
We’re probably too far away but you may find one closer, note-the floor plans do change depending on model year!

This is great discussion chaps, and very informative. Thanks for taking time to post.
Russell, your comments are absolutely spot on. Although at 4 and 7 the kids are perhaps a little too you for an awning extension, I too have thought that to be a great way forwards in the not too distant future. The biggest key for us is the end bunks. I was just thinking bigger van to get more living/storage space.
Mr Brain, I'm loving the van in your second link, from the point of looks, space and layout it would be ideal, albeit maybe it blows the budget out of the water completely!
Batfink, I'll look up the spec on your cousin's one. I'm actually going to Lakeside later this morning!
My kids are 4 and 6 and love the fixed bunks
We have a Coachman Amara Lux 640/6. Twin Axle so a big lump, but the Disco makes light work of it. Fixed bunks, side dinette making two additional bunks if required, big end bathroom with corner shower. Having tried 4 or so layouts over the last 10 years (granted two were pre kids...we moved back from a fixed bed to fixed bunks to give them their own space)...this has been far the best in terms of layout and quality.
Cheers

Mikeyb,
SWMBO and I are thinking about selling our Cameo 625 GL (same as detailed in the eBay add but with gold/beige colour soft furnishings)
Owned for 2 years and sites in Cornwall so never towed.
We’re just negotiating the purchase of a newer/different layout van so our trusty & bone dry Bailey Ranger 550/6 (2003) may soon be up for sale.
Currently located nr Newcastle upon Tyne.
I’ll be heading South to Surrey to collect the replacement if all goes well.
Happy to PM more details if required.

Worth going to local dealers to get a feel for what would work for you all different then if someone is selling something on here you know is suitable. I'd recommend getting a survey done so know if it's a good one especially from damp point of view. Good time to buy and not having one to sell yourself puts you in good bargaining position. Like a Disco worth looking on forum to see any potential issues Good luck with your search hope you find what your looking for Welsh Collie Chauffeur Service To Barney & Rooney.

Thanks for all the replies guys. The advice to have a look around a few dealers was indeed sound and helped us work out what we wanted.
I'm pleased to say I've just picked up a Dethleffs DL520 5 berth.. It has heaps more storage than our old van, a better layout and twin bunks at the rear which will be perfect for the kids!
Appreciate all the offers and advice.
Anyone want a cheap, tidy starter caravan as our trusty old Sprite Major now needs to go!
Come to think of it, so does the trailer tent....... Not such a Disco Newbie now!

Can you PM details of the Sprite? I need an additional van for race weekends, so would be pleased to hear about it.
