Exact setting to change in CCF for DRL's retrofit |
|
Hi all,
Apologies for the somewhat cryptic title, but I couldn't think of any other way to word it.
Essentially, I stuck some 2014+ xenons in my 2010 disco and the main lights work a treat, and I thought the DRL's only worked when I switched the side lights on (and are somewhat dim). HOWEVER, I'm told that the DRL's should come on with the ignition if the correct 'option' is ticked in the Faultmate tool thing at my local indy dealer.
Could anyone possibly point me in the right direction as to the EXACT option I need to enable so that the DRL's come on with the ignition/when driving normally etc.
Hope that makes sense!

It’s something like DRL enable.
Just look at the settings and enable the most likely one.
But bear in mind the DRL only come on once a gear is selected, then stay on until ignition off.

^ that ccf advice sounds right but the DRL on the Xenons will light up on ignition.
(Assuming you have checked that they are Xenons as the MY14 Halogens don't have DRLs...)
DRL's bright on ignition and dim on side lights / main beam
Remember you need the relay flash mod to open the shutter so flash works when lights off Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

I just enabled DRL on a 2014 and they only worked as soon as you select drive or reverse.

So on 2014 or earlier, you need to select Canadian or Scandinavian lights for the DRL’s which are not actually DRL’s, but will just put the lights on for you.
For 2014.5 onwards, you should just be able to set DRL to on.
Having said that, there have been a couple of cars where I’ve enabled the 2014.5 lights and they’ve need to have an extra drl settings (can’t remember what off the top of my head) Bodsys Brake Bible

Bodsy... fancy coming to play with mine...
I thought the LED strip would just come on, on it's own with the DRL active in the CCF...
Apparently not...
