London short stay apartments - recommendations?

Hi all,

We are going to be spending a couple of weeks in London next year. Our previous stays have been short, so we have used hotels, but this time I would really like an apartment with a washing machine. There will also be three of us this time, so two bedrooms is a must.

I am reluctant to go the AirBnB route, as too many people I know have had cancellations at short notice. It will actually be over New Years 2019/2020, so I have plenty of time to get organised, but really don't want any short notice changes! I expect that there will be reasonable demand at that time of year, hence looking at booking 12 months out.

Does anyone know of a decent, corporate, apartment company? Down this end of the world, we have building that are like hotels, but are made up of multiple apartments with laundries, multiple bathrooms etc. But I can't seem to find any equivalent for the UK.

Anyone got any experience of using apartments in London?

TIA.

Ashley.

Try something like booking.com they have a big selection

Done a quick search and found this https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/stanhope-...D312435801

Not cheap but might be what you are after (I have no knowledge of this apartment only did a quick search)

Might also be worth looking at trip advisor or one of the serviced apartment sites like https://www.central-london-apartments.com

sorry I couldn't give an actual recommendation

hope you find something

Unnecessary quote removed

They do have such places in and around docklands - aimed at medium to long term visitors to the financial sectors no doubt. I have stayed in such a place. Once. Overnight. Couple of years ago. Will try and dig out the details.

I think for stays longer than a hotel, you could try AirBNB?

I'm sure there's plenty around London..

Thanks for the replies.

Paul, thanks for that link. I didn’t really think about booking.com, as I didn’t realise they did apartments. I had found that central London one as well. Trip Adviser is a good idea, don’t know why I didn’t think of that myself. Thumbs Up

Prof, if you can find any info on where you stayed, that would be awesome.

Browny, thanks for the suggestion but as mentioned as would prefer to stay away from Air BNB. I would rather deal with a company than an individual.

Cheers all. If anyone else has a personal recommendation I would love to hear it.

Fraser Place, Canary Wharf. As I recall, it would meet your needs perfectly. No idea on price comparisons I am afraid:

I can't honestly recall if there were washing facilities but the apartments certainly did have kitchens:

Nell Gwyn House on Sloane Avenue, Chelsea. Much nice area than the windswept frozen misery of Canary Wharf and better located for most London attractions. Also nice and convenient for Heathrow.

I've stayed there myself these last couple of weeks, first used them some 15 years ago. Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

NoDo$h, that's perfect - exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

We normally stay in Kensington and really like the area, so Chelsea is perfect.

Thanks so much. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
