[For Sale] Wiring kit for 2nd battery
Wiring kit for 2nd battery.
£27 delivered, unfortunately all that copper is heavy.
This is the wiring & solenoid needed for a 2nd battery for both D3 and (as just taken out of) the D4.

Not all the spade connectors are there, some crimping or soldering will be needed, plus fitting to a D4 is quite an involved process, unlike the D3 which is relatively straight forward.
The kit includes:
Positive lead that goes from the +ve of the crank battery to one side of the solenoid.
Positive lead that goes from the other side of the solenoid to the +ve pole of the Aux battery
Negative lead that goes to the earthing stud beside the battery from the -ve post of the aux battery.
Negative “sensing” lead for the switching feed, again to same earthing stud.
Positive feeds from the +ve terminal of the aux battery to the fuse box (left in the car).
A load of wiring that was put in place to take two heavy(ish) feeds to the rear to put power to the cubby hole covers, a job I didn’t do. That’s 2 x ~6.6m feeds, more than enough to allow it to go anywhere, plus a spur near the “front” to take a cable to the solenoid output to make the aux ciggie sockets live off the Aux battery.
Threes cables to battery above, spur to relay output below.
Upper left is the Albright solenoid. Fitted after I went through 3 “cheap” solenoids, as recommended by an electrics guru on here, and it has been brill.

The battery mounting bracket is for the correct side, the aux battery side, however the poles that it fixes to were left in the D4.
Not in that pic is a pos lead for the sensing feed, this was fixed to the pollution sensor behind the grill, would need to be connected to an ignition only positive feed to work the solenoid “bridge”, my non techie term.

Unfortunately even if you beat Nigel the cost of shipping across The Pond would be prohibitive. Sorry.
