My rear passenger side tyr has been wearing badly. ITs become very stepped, with every second tread lug on the edges being worn almost bald.
The other three tyres are fine. This one also runs hotter and builds to slightly higher pressure than the other rear tyre when both start at the same pressure cold.
It's the same for either the 245/70R17's or the 255/60R18's.
Any thoughts?? Have a nice day!

thats sounds like that wheel is out of alignment. Have you had it re-tracked lately, as the D3 has a 4 wheel alignment issue, but usually a few months from new. (its after everything has settled down).

Though so.

Is this still a feature or have LR sorted this now ?
My 1st gen D3 never suffered from this, then some MY's did. Do they still ? Or is it a random thing ?

Jamo - with such a heavy vehicle I believe that a 10 000 km check of the alignment is certainly warranted. (Although mine has had only 2).
And yes, the condition of the rear tyre you describe is something that indicates that a wheel alignment (all four) might be due. LeighW

* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Alignment was last done 12,000km ago at the 96000km service as I had the front diff replaced at the same time.
Since it's one wheel only, I'd say something has worn to or past it's limit and needs replaceing. Probably the other side is not far off.
2 months to the big 120,000km service, so I might get it aligned locally and then get the dealer to do the proper job during the service. Have a nice day!
