Delay On Fan Motor
So the wife said the interior Fan was not working so got her to take into the local garage for a look over.
Garage stat that the fan motor is faulty and the fan cuts in and out sporadically and want £355 for a new motor fitted.
I get a recon unit and fit it myself and still have the same issues..!
When you turn the key in the ignition there is a exhale of air from the fan than it takes a while to burst into life however then next time it goes straight away.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

If you've got the fan on auto it won't run at full speed unless the engine temperature is high enough, however that shouldn't affect the manual operation...

Probably need to replace the relay under the bonnet.
Swap it with the rear vent one next to it and see if it fixes it

Do you have an HSE model with rear vents in roof?
If yes, you should get a replacement relay

My wife’s Evoque needed a new fan motor fitted, it was under warranty but I’d love to know what it actually cost as the main dealership had it for a half day to diagnose and then a week later two days to fit. The labour alone would have been in the high hundreds.
