Manchester airport T1
Merry Christmas everyone, probably silly time to ask but I need to plan and have a few answers at the ready,
I’ve booked a secret (well to swmbo) holiday to Cuba, well need to stay overnight and park for 15 days, looking to use meet and greet rather than a car park and shuttle this time, any recommend hotel and meet and greet service
Regards

I take a lot of customers to the Clayton Hotel at Man air where you can park and fly. They have a free shuttle service both too and from the terminal but In actual fact its only a 2 minute walk from T1 arrivals back to the hotel. Its had a make over in the last year or so and seems quite decent inside The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

We use the Radisson blu at the airport. They do park and fly packages for up to 15 days. Just leave your car at the hotel, walk to the terminal and pick your car up again from the hotel when you get back. The car gets taken to a secure car park 7 miles away and brought back in time for your return.MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

It's very much up to the individual, obviously - but there's no way I'd consider using the M&G service at Manchester airport. Well, I wouldn't use anywhere which involved leaving my car keys with someone I'd never met before, to be honest - but Manchester M&G in particular, as I've seen more than one news item about them in the last few months involving cars being returned damaged and with many more miles on them than they had when they were dropped off.
If it were me, I'd definitely be looking into one of the park & fly options at the airport hotels (I believe most of them do it), where you can park the car yourself and hold onto the keys.

Interesting
I have also booked a Cuba trip flying from T1 and I have booked the meet and greet, the drop off is right near the terminal
Where are you headed in Cuba?

Me too
3 Nights in Havana at the Iberostar Parque Central followed by 3 nights in Trinidad and then 8 nights in Varedero in the Quatro Palmas Starfish resort
It’s your choice, this is the Dashcam footage of a friend of mine who flew from Manchester earlier this year using M&G, his Audi was only a week or so old as it was sedately driven, the rattling at the second traffic lights is the rilfling through the storage pockets.

^^^^^^^ That’s one way of running in a new car. I’ve seen/heard too many tales of woe from M&G “services”, wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole for my old banger, never mind a “ nice” car. For the sake of getting a shuttle bus from & to the car park it’s not worth the risk.

Also from where the car was originally parked he could have got to the second park in under a minute. He really took the long way round ! The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

That dashcam vid says it all! Plus I've seen a couple of news reports over the last few months of people who've got recorded evidence of their cars being abused and mistreated while in the care of M'c'r airport M&G staff. In my humble opinion, you'd have to be off your head to hand over the keys to thousands of pounds' worth of vehicle to these clowns.

I always use the long stay... it’s a couple of minutes walk or use the bus, but time you’ve waited for it you could’ve walked it’s that close... the sooner you book it the cheaper it is..If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Manchester airport valet parking
I worked for the valet parking at the airport which includes meet and greet service, in fact I was one of the first five employees that started the service. all the cars are photographed on the way in, complete with the owner in the car, i know its hard to believe but some people try to blame us for existing damage. One customer accused us of putting 7000 miles on his car he was parked for two weeks. the airport is large but all the cars remain on the airport with secure parking. i would recommend them every time.
There are a lot of other firms that do airport parking and give the impression that they are part of the airport. not all are reliable. Hope this helps. Regards John.ford consul written off

If using meet and greet, always uses the official Manchester airport one, the horror stories you read about are mostly always the rogue ones who pretend they are official but are not part of the airport...If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Took the plunge and booked into the Clayton with parking, swmbo was well impressed with the surprise present, happily counting down the days to go.
I’ll post up on return with the results of our experience
