Bind Tool

Just noticed this binding option for the first time? I am guessing it will lock the tool to my account and Phone. Good idea if it stops theft resales, but something to be aware of now on the 2nd hand market. 2010 Disco 4 HSE

AFAIK it doesn’t lock to a phone. I’ve got the IID app in both iPad and iPhone. It’s just the dongle itself is licensed for at least one VIN (and that VIN/device is at least indirectly connected to an account at GAP).

I had it registered to my D4 previously and unlocked the VIN. Been using it for a few months just never spotted this option? 2010 Disco 4 HSE

Nothing wrong. Bound mine no problem. The app has been updated and I guess it’s a security upgrade.
