Picked up my new (to me) LR3 this morning and noticed I wasnt gettting any warning of close objects when parking.
I tried pressing the PDC button on the dash but that didnt seem to do anything
I'm not seeing any warnings anywhere
Is there anything I can do to check it?
thank

Reversing pdc should activate when you move into reverse with handbrake off.
Can check with ignition on position II, engine not running, and move gear selector to reverse and hand brake off.
The PDC led on the centre console should light automatically, and you should get a single ‘beep’ from the sounder, the led is built into the switch.
If the led comes on then you should be able to hear an audible ‘clicking’ if you put your ear close to each of the 4 parking sensors; I’ve never been able to hear it, but others say you can.
If light not coming on or no clicking, it’s going to be a lot easier to have your ecu codes read to try and pinpoint the fault.
If led not coming on, then I wonder if the system was disabled in the car configuration file because the system was faulty.

if you aren't hearing any error tones from the rear, the speaker in the rear left panel has probably failed.
If you aren't seeing the switch LED come on at all, the fuse may have been removed (behind glovebox)

thank you both
the joys of buying a used car
Guess I need to get myself a diagnostic scanner. PDQ
its illegal here to certify (aka MOT) the car with error codes cleared, so will need to check there is history still in the ECU and they didnt just clear any codes/disconnect the battery before the saftey check
Is the ODB2 port standard for fault code reading? i.e. can I read it with the generic bluetooth type readers or do I need a specific JLR compatible one?

In your good place they make a GAP IID BT tool to read fault codes (combined with a smart phone).
They are expensive, but worth every $
