The manual says leave for 10 minutes Shocked and then hold cables together.
What time is the clock showing?
You should have an option of time of arrival or time to finish the journey or none, but I suppose it depends what year firmware you are using.

It will when others won't,

Odd - mine has developed the same issue today - not looked at any 'fixes' yet and the car hasn't been driven for a while, but will my guess is the a reset and battery disconnect. I'll see if it works and post back.

So, finally found a few minutes to try all the suggestions mentioned from kicking it to powering down, touching battery leads, toggling user settings and removing refitting dvd etc, but still no eta showing.

Not the end of the world, but any more thoughts??

Thanks

Obviously, can't speak for autobiorob, but yes when under navigation it simply shows no eta. If, whilst under navigation, I go to settings and toggle the eta button off I do get a time countdown eg, 7 mins... But toggling back gives me the same dashes - - / - - and no eta.

Seem like it has lost link to real time clock.

Interesting problem. At a guess I would say there may be a cmos battery in the system somewhere, that has died. Similar to older computers that forget what they are when you switch them off. If you can find the battery, it may be replacable ?

Gareth, as good as suggestion as any - I'll see what google turns up in terms of batteries and such in Sat Navs and how they process the time feed. It's not my every day car so could well have been missing for a while, and if it was some internal battery could well have faded some time ago.

I guess on the grand scheme of problems it's not the biggest, but you know how it is, as a perfectionist it irritates me knowing something isn't working correctly, when in every other way the car is fine and faultless (am touching wood, rabbits feet etc.). Big Cry

I always knew I was on a journey, for the time being, with no ETA I just won't know what time I'm due to arrive! Thumbs Up

Same thing happened to me after disconnecting my battery to replace the alternator. Very frustrating

The GPS should get time from the satellites so I am not sure what could be causing this.

Mine developed the same problem on Monday after Flack had disconnected the battery while doing my oil pump and belts. Haven’t had time yet to do a reset or to investigate properly so watching to see how others get on.

Just been out to have a look at mine armed with my Gap fault finder and decided to have a look at the settings menu first. Sure enough my “show arrival time” was turned off. Switched it back on and all now back to normal. Disconnection of battery on Monday must have changed the setting. Was all set to do a soft reset of the ECUs but not needed in the end.
Result!

Mossy - any progress?? - I seem to have exactly the same problem - I am guessing as it's becoming more common it's an age thing - maybe a CMOS type battery problem. As you say not the end of the world, but would be nice to solve,

Not got beyond re-trying all of the above suggestions - again, and dropping in at my local dealer for suggestions. As you might expect - clueless of the issue, but my next plan of action, when I get the time is to try LR Customer Service to see if they can enlighten me (us all). Laughing

My D3 isn't my day-to-day car, so its not been on the radar much, but using it over the Easter weekend I kind of miss the old "When will I get there?" and as everything works on the car, it is starting to irritate me that this doesn't.

Does seem odd a few of us are having the same issue now.

I will keep trying things and if any luck will post.

Thumbs Up following with interest! I tried a newer disc and the original disc, disconnected the whole unit, and reset the system, and reset the SatNav. No luck to date.

Had the same problem. Resetting on the options menu worked for me. Thanks for info.
