The big problem is that the radio does other stuff so you might need to add rather than replace stuff 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

Agree, but out of interest sake, can a base radio be upgraded to the premium sound? Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

I seem to recall that someone (one of the American guys) has completely replaced the LR audio system and put a rather nice system in with built in screen etc.
Have just tried a quick search without any luck but will try again in a bit.
He reported that he had had no problems with any other electronics not working as a result of his modifications.

I don't think the base head unit talks much!
But 07 has a differernt CANBUS that chats to each part in different ways from previous models. It is also black.
Dealer is replacing my Base stereo with the 07 head unit as the stereo drops out. LR told the dealer the new base unit is better than the old. They are not sure if it will work with my 06.
If it does work I will let you know how it goes.
If the sound is still cr p I will be looking at replacing it. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

What are the effects of the stereo dropping out? I suspect it is the same as mine. Perfect channel, then static all of a sudden.
What do you mean by the new unit is black? Can the new unit play Mp3's? Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?
