Last day with a Disco
It’s my last day as a Disco owner today. Mine is being traded in for a new car today. I’ve been in one for the last 13 years and have enjoyed it immensely. It’s going to be weird driving a normal car but I think it’s time to change and there is nothing comparable in the Landrover stable that meets my needs and budget.
Thanks for all of the support and advice I have picked up on here. This really is an amazing community and a mine of information. I’ll stick around as a lurker but still help where I can.
It’s a bitter sweet day today 😎Bri

I’ve gone for something completely different; and Audi A7.
Loving the technology and looking forward to the fuel economy.
But it’s not a Disco 😭Bri

The Audis are a pretty damned good car, especially the 3.0 v6 diesels.
Wifes on her 4th 3.0tdi quattro A6 and apart from general servicing nowt to worry about.
They hold 7.75 litres of oil

Many of us have been there and whilst I look back with fondness I just have a different permagrin that a Disco could never give. Life moves on.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Give it a few months of 45 + MPG and the only thing you'll be missing is the friendly smile of the person behind the fuel station checkout

I must confess, it is nice seeing an mpg figure (real one that is) that starts with a 5 rather than a 2.

I did a 95 mile trip on Saturday - 47mpg - undreamt of in the Disco.
Nearly half the price to fill up with a greater range - one thing I don't miss about moving on.Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Very nice, hope you enjoy! If I didn't have a dog and a caravan I think that's what I'd have next, especially for the run to Austria for the annual ski trip - I can imagine it would soak up the miles 2014 D4 XS

Mine doesn't do 47mpg But it does drive better, go quicker, sound better and is around 10-15% more economical that the D4 was.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

TBH the mpg was never an issue with 3 x D3s and a D4, I knew they were a tad thirsty and accepted that. It was the reliability and the “what if” factor that was the final factor girl me, plus what we have planned where the D4 would have been a pretty drive ornament for waaaaaaaay longer than was sensible.
