Looked at a few cars. Volvo XC90 spec is irritating but not as bad as the Mercedes GLE where heated rear seats are not even an option so there would be a revolt from the smaller people in the back. Touareg is nice and has a spare wheel but is over priced. Widening the net a bit, the X5 is a lovely place to sit and has a split tailgate of sorts. RRS lovely but boot too small and FFRR too expensive. Q7 is much better than the first version but not open to orders at the moment and it's diesel only. Q8 is a curved ball and they are pushing them hard at the moment.

Think it's time to dump the third row seats.

I understand that they’re dropping the 2 litre version. I had a play and tow with a 305bhp 3 litre model last week - it certainly goes well!

Never saw that, who’s saying it?
