Engine system fault

Hi all

Second post of today from me

I was having problems with the egr stopping boost. They were already blanked. And I unplugged them too.

But now when I put my foot down, it boosts. But if I give it some welly then engine system fault comes up.

I turn the engine off and on and the fault disappears. Until I put my foot down.

Maybe this could be related to my post about mpg being 25?

Please can you put your vehicle details in the system it will help members diagnose your issues.

Is yours auto or manual, 25mpg isnt bad for an Auto on mixed driving this should go up to maybe 30mpg on a run.
A manual would be around 28mpg mixed driving and maybe 34mpg on a run.
You need to remember your car weighs 2.5t and has the areo dynamics of a very large brick.

As per your fault you need to get the codes read as guessing can work out very expencive it could be anything from a sticking turbo actuator to an air leak on the air intake or even a dirty map sensor.

Gap lld diagnostics are expencive but are invaluable when it comes to faults like this being able to look at the live values can telly ou more than just the fault codes

Hi and thanks for your reply!

It’s a 2005 2.7 se manual

In all honesty I’ve been to a garage probably 8-10 times now. Become frustrating so I’m trying to do things myself to progress better.

I did post about a good diagnostic tool but gap iid is about £500 which I can’t afford. And don’t have a clue where to look with brands etc. Don’t suppose you could recommend one?

I’m a newbie.

I’ve just bought front discs pads and sensor to try fit myself. And coolant bottle. Entire rear brake system was last week. Seems never ending.

I have a hand of it now to be fair. Except for the wonkey suspension and boost fault

Keep a look out in the for sale section you can pick up a Gap lld for around £300 and you can always get your money back later as they sell so fast.
Or put a add in the wanted section

Afternoon,

Have you checked the intercooler hose ? I had very similar symptoms. Car ran fine, but when it changed down whilst towing and the revs went up the an engine system fault message and the car more or less stopped. Turning ignition off / on reset it until the next time.

We had the car towed home (from France) and sent to a Land Rover Specialist who blanked the EGR. A month later had exactly the same issue on exactly the same hill. Found the intercooler hose had several splits in it. Cheap change and has been fine ever since.

Yes. It is on the left (looking from the front)

Mine had multiple splits on the rear. They're easy to change - even I managed it !

The AP200 does calibrate the suspension I’ll run a diagnostic tomorrow and see if it tests, have t used it to test the suspension sensors as only had an issue once and it showed up in the 4x4 info screen
