Our Discovery 4

Thought I'd post up a pic of the wife's new motor, firstly with the original type 511 wheels (soon to be for sale):

With compomotives (with cooper AT3s):

I've since removed the roof bars and bought a dog guard + luggage separator.

Its pretty much the exact spec I was looking for with HSE plus Meridian Surround, Active Rear Locking Diff and a few off-road accessories (including the extra set of wheels!). Would have liked the heated steering wheel though.

Its on around 58k miles so will wait a year or so before the transmission oil flush. Considering a remap - for better fuel economy and to get rid of the flat spot whilst pulling away. Otherwise it feels pretty good.

I fancy a Mitch hitch or similar - not sure about the standard tow bar fitting. Is anything like this available in the UK?

I notice that the heater isn't really warm unless on Hi. Saw a thread on this, but didn't see a resolution or fix. Anyone solved this?

Very nice Discovery.

Not sure if this helps with the tow hitch?

I have one on my D4, although a friend brought it over from South Africa for me for a lot less than they are charging.

Also as it’s not type approved for Uk, it is only for recovery purposes off road.

Interesting hitch, pretty high for a tow bar - maybe a nato style hitch? as you say a recovery point only but then again I’d expect the std rear eye would be up to this...

I like the Mitch hitch as it’s a got a std 2” x 2” fitting - handy for bike carriers and all sorts of other fittings..

Pity neither are type approved in eu!
