[For Sale] Triumph Stag MkII Automatic £8,495 ONO
I've still got this advertised this with the Stag Owners Club and have it on Car and Classics. But am getting a lot of time wasters. I've had a new driver's side floor put in it and have dropped the price substantially and thought I'd update it on here, 'just in case'. I'll donate to the forum if it sells on here.
Triumph Stag Mk 2 For Sale
Pimento Red in colour, with black roof and interior. I have a Heritage Certificate for it and it was originally white, then Magenta and then red and I think it suits her.
She still has her original 3.0 litre V8 engine and Borg Warner automatic gearbox (fully reconditioned).
She comes with her original hardtop as well as a reconditioned soft top.
Registration number is OSF 141P and the current mileage is showing at just over 78,000. However, the previous owner advised that it’s much lower and only shows as this due to a speed change. The Mot history backs this up.
I’ve owned her for just over 3 years and have only done approximately 1,500 miles in that time. I have taken her to the Darling Buds of May Car show for the last two years and she received plenty of admiration.
I had her serviced and MoT’d in October, despite her being Tax and MoT exempt. I had a new outrigger fitted for the MoT and recently had a new drivers side floor pan fitted, but looks pretty solid otherwise.
She’s had replacement front wings before I bought her, so all good there. She could do with some work to the rear arches at some point, but there’s no rust showing and they’re presentable at present.
I’ve had her serviced professionally, by a local specialist throughout my ownership. I have also had the automatic gearbox fully stripped down and reconditioned, in addition to the differential and carburetors.
I fitted a modern, electronic, fuel pump.
She had new front brakes a year or so ago and has just had new rear brake pipes and a brake service.
She’s got an electric fan and I haven’t had any overheating issues.
Her tyres are good and the wheels are in excellent condition.
I fitted a modern cd player and speaker (in the original front mounting) but have the original radio.
The front seats are a little tired and could do with new foam, although I find them quite comfy!
Overall, she’s a presentable, useable classic that would benefit from a bit of TLC as time goes on. She’s always been garaged and well looked after, in my ownership, with no expense spared and summer use only. I’ve recently moved house and have less time to use her.
I’ve got a few spare bits ad pieces along with a trolley for the hardtop and will include these if she sells for something very near to the asking price.

Had a white one in the late 70's (suffered from warped heads for a pass time)
A dark red in the 80's (traded in for an Escort RS2000 in signal orange)
And a bright yellow one in the 90's for weekends (rusted out just about everywhere)

Very nice! I still run a Triumph, a 1973 2500 Pi. I've had it for 31 years.

Thanks Richard - I do like a Pi! Most impressive, having owned it for that long!Now onto my second D3, alongside my fourth FFRR - I don't learn!

I've always had a soft spot for the PI straight six Triumph. Mate of mine had one when we were teenagers back in the 70's. I shudder to think of the speeds it used to hit on the Uxbridge Rd on an evening out. Bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing!Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.
