Throttle pedal issue - poor connection in loom? |
|
My discovery is dropping into limp home mode. It is complaining about a signal mismatch in the throttle pedal readings. I can see from looking at diagnostics that the A reading falls to zero sometimes, so there is definitely a fault. I have replaced the throttle pedal with a second hand one and the problem has persisted. I think the pedal is unlikely to be at fault and so am now looking for issues in the loom. My disco has a history - it has been in a significant accident on the front, near side corner which was repaired badly with the loom misrouted and not properly attached amongst other things. It has had random electrical issues in the past.
I was wondering if anyone could help with the following:
Can you tell me more about the route the cables from the throttle pedal take to the ECU? Are there connectors in between, for instance through the bulkhead?
Can you tell me the pinout of the throttle pedal so that I can test it with certainty and also send fake signals to the ECU?
Thanks in advance

Thank you. Those are excellent wiring diagrams with probably what are probably pin number at each connection. They also show a mid-span connection where the wire colour change. How do I figure out where this connection is in the car? If that information is in the diagram, I am not understanding it at the moment.
Thanks again

I don’t have a link to complete diagram of the connector locations but just taking the connector and googling it may result in finding it.
In the wiring diagrams it shows the connector number and also the pin that wire is in of the connector

Hmmm I don't think that uploaded, correctly.
If you google "Connector Quick Reference Guide" you should be able to get it.

Sometimes I miss the most obvious things! Google did indeed bring up this thread:
https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic126367.html
Which has a picture of the connection location. Now to see if I can find it in real life.
Thanks again.
