Cubby Box Fridges

Can any one let me know if the cubby box fridge models changed when the ACM USB/iPod ports were moved from the cubby box lid to the top glove box? i.e. when the ACM ports moved, was the fridge housing updated to not have a notch/cut-out for the ACM cable?

Thanks,
Matthew

As far as i’m aware, there were no changes made to the fridge unit when the USB ports were moved.

Thanks for the responses. The linked thread helps with the difference between D3 and D4 but I suspect there is a different between D4 and D4.5.

If anyone with a D4.5 could look at their fridge and tell me if it has the groove near the hinge for the old ACM cables or not, that would be handy and greatly appreciated!

You can see what I am referring to at the top right here in the blank framing:

Just had a look at my MY14 and that cutout at the top isn’t there. Thumbs Up

I fitted an older fridge into my D4. The old fridge did not have the cut out, and the car needed it. Was a simple job to make a neat cutout with hacksaw, craft knife and v fine wet and dry.

I have just passed up on the second hand one now and signed up to the group buy that is active currently to get a new part. Summer is approaching so I wasn't taking any risks!

New fridge is installed but guess, what... I have this problem!

*see the unrequired cut out near the hinge.

Now I am sure that I have seen a picture of a rubber grommet or stopper here in another post. Can anyone confirm?

I installed the cubby box of my previous MY2011 Discovery (USB on the cubby cover) on my MY2014 XXV (USB on glove box) and I did so:

That looks a lot better than my one does with the hole! I will see if I can find that on a parts diagram...

Is there any adjustment on the circuit board of the fridge to alter the temperature? I'd like mine to be colder.
Do they either work or not work?

Mine is good enough to keep milk and cans cold enough to drink but only on a decent journey. Short journeys don’t give enough time to cool it down much.
