Thats some trip
in Dubrovnik last year and Split in a fortninght, were cheating and flying
Hope your having a good long break
And
can recommend this place for an evening meal, you order the day before for the slow cooked meat its on the road coming back down from the cable car, we walked it after the sun set it may not have been the best option, no lights and cars driving back down not expecting anyone walking it

Hi,

Our friends are wanting to go there, but we are not so sure, would be a bus trip from split so no car to have a drive about with.

The map in your first post is too small to see where you ended up.
I have considered doing the trip to a small village 80 miles SE of Zagreb and keep mapping it out.
It varies between a 15 hour and a 17 hour run so would probably take it easy and take the trip over two days. The distance from Calais is 1100 miles and I would be travelling alone and during the period November to January so not the best of weather either.
I hunt over there and the Airlines have got so restrictive and expensive regarding the carriage of Sporting rifles and ammo so decided to explore other methods of getting there.
At the moment I have had a run of bad health so it wouldn't be until November at the earliest. I have faith in my vehicle, it is an April 2018 D5 3 litre Discovery so quite comfortable and a joy to drive.

We drove from Calais to Strasbourg then to vallach and the to our destination Dubrovnik for four nights then costal Road up to Trogir near Split, we leave here tomorrow for plitvik national park for a few days sightseeing then we move onto Germany to the Black Forest, and then make our way home sailing back on the 8th of June, this trip as been to see what and if we like Croatia and we will be coming back knowing a little more of what we want to do and see more of , I hope you are well enough and make your trip, as for the D5 it as not grown on me to look at but I did have a curtsey one and the drive and comfort was great
