I got a Halfords AGM battery @ £184 discounted to £147.20 with a trade card.
I'm going to put the money I saved towards a NOCO Boost HD GB70 2000 Amp Booster.

How much is the standard Land Rover battery?
If a non Land Rover battery is fitted how does it effect Land Rover warranty?

Hi
i used a CTEK charger once a week during winter and very similar during summer on my D3 and the two batteries lasted 6 years each, and I sold it with a 1 year old battery on it. I am doing the same on my D4 now. All standard Land Rover batteries, VARTA , and Exide etc . regards Jonathan

On older cars, you could tell if the battery was on it's way out as it would struggle to crank over. This would give you enough time to get around to buying a new battery and fitting it. Not anymore.
I'm not sure whether the reason is down to battery technology or just modern engines.
I agree. Even with regular use modern batteries do not tend to give more than 24-36 month life span, depending on severe winters and hot summers for operating temperatures. Older Landys, as stated, will give an indicator of failing but with Disco3/4s, a slight difference in deterioration of the battery is a death knell!! 2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

I completely agree with that statement, The CTEK is the way forward because it charges your batteries and tests them to see if they can hold a charge.
I know its a bit OTT but I also connect my CTEK once a week or so... Gone 2016 Landmark D4

There’s a AGM option in my MSX7. That’s what I use. Gary

Just ordered an Exide battery from Tayna with fast delivery pre noon for £93. I'm off to France for three weeks on holiday and don't need the hassle of a duff battery and the associated problems it can throw at you. Besides its 6 years old so probably best to change it. D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

The CTEK automatically detects the battery type for you.
It selects AGM for my batteries Gone 2016 Landmark D4

Can you just fit a new battery or did I read somewhere that it needs to be ‘coded’ to the car too?

Small battery was delivered and fitted by me for £46 , first problem I noticed was orange light on dash board and the flappy paddles show a INOP fault on dash.
Both batteries change and all faults gone and even stop/start works again.

I had both batteries swapped on 16MY at about 2.5 years and 25k miles under warranty. The stop start battery failed after driving to Belgium and back so was fully charged.
