Accessing SatNav DVD and Uploading Blackberry phonebook |
|
Two new owner questions for the price of one....
1. How do I access the satnav DVD ?
Manual says roll the left seat forward and up as far as it will go, it then helpfully shows me a picture of what to do next if I drove a Range Rover.
I can see the rear of the DVD drive, but when I roll the seat back, a plastic cover prevents me accessing the front of the drive. Does the cover come off ?
2. My Blackberry Pearl pairs fairly well but I can't upload the phonebook. Has anyone else managed ?
Mines a 08 (Irish) spec Discovery 3.

Welcome to the site
Plastic cover on the front of the seat just pulls off .
Personally i dont bother ..just bring the seat as far forward then upwards as you can .
Look inside the gap and you will see the nav unit.
On the right is a little slide button ..slide this to unlock .Then push eject on the left hand side of the unit.Remove disk.
Better off with a torch
Cant help with the blackberry as i dont use one !!! G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks Wiggs
I wonder if it was made deliberately awkward to discourage owners from copying the DVD...
Shame more controls aren't accessible via the nav screen, like on the Jag for instance. Java Black 2008 HSE

It's a just a shame that the phone doesn't integrate with the satnav screen, likewise the iPod accessory.
Wish I could figure out the phonebook upload, the phone is fully supported according to the list of approved phones.
Maybe I'll give land rover UK a ring, are they any good at answering technical questions ? Land Rover Ireland are a waste of time. Java Black 2008 HSE

My Blackberry 8700 uploads the phone book, but I have to manually connect it to the BT every time I get in the car, despite checking the 'always trust' thingymajig.
I guess Land Rovers just don't like Blackberry's
