Had the aircon re gassed last Sunday and all was good. Chilly! Used the car today, no cold air.
Opened the valve up and gas escaped so assuming there is still gas in there
Any ideas? D3 2005 TDV6 7 Seat Zambezi Silver

If you gave the valve core a quick prod with a blunt instrument you should have got a pretty rapid escape of gas and some oil all over the place, anything less most likely means you have a leak.

Gave the valve a prod No oil, just gas. KwikFit regassed it and as part of that claim they leak test it D3 2005 TDV6 7 Seat Zambezi Silver

Hi, Kwik fit did mine last year, and that lasted a week, so I topped it up myself with the stp easy cool.
I have rear aircon, and wondered weather that needs to be turned on as there are two amounts of gas written on the plate under the bonnet. Mine worked ever since.

I didn’t supervise them doing it so I m not sure. I m guessing as when I pressed the valve I still have gas in there so no leak. Compressor maybe? D3 2005 TDV6 7 Seat Zambezi Silver

You need to get it on the diagnostics and see if you have fault codes and pressure.
I wouldnt recommend Kwick fit to carry out any diagnostics.
I have repaired a number of vehicles that have been to them and im not saying they do a bad job but they just connect vehicles up to there automated machines and as long as the vehicles are good and they press the right buttons all goes well.
There is more of a skill to diagnosing and repairing the systems.
For example the Discovery fitted with rear aircon has a big system with a lot of pipes, it needs vacuuming for at least an hour and the pressure test needs to be for at least 20 mins. I know that automated machines are set to 20 mins for vaccuming and 4 mins for the pressure test and unless you loose all the vacuum on a pressure test it will carry on and refill the system. 3 months down the road you have lost most of your gas and damaged the enviroment.
A good repairer will also fill the system with nitrogen to find any leaks not just put dye in and hope to find the leak next time the customer returns.
If yours has the rear aircon i would get the piping checked out the pipes easily corode and start to leak due the the way they are routed

Any vents in the roof by the interior light?
It doesnt sound like you have so it should be a lot easier and cheaper to repair and as mentioned before is mist likely a damaged condensor

You won't have rear AC Neil
You need the pressure of the AC system checked. Should be around 3-4 bar. If it's less, you have a leak
If the pressure is too high, the compressor won't kick in either
If the pressure is OK, there may not be enough refrigerant in the system, but having been regassed, this shouldn't be an issue
Of everything else checks out OK, it is likely to be the compressor. Replaced a few recently My D3 Build Thread

Is there an easy way to diagnose the compressor Mikey, and are they as much of a **** to swap as I’ve read? Cheers,
Gareth
