I’ve been watching it and it’s been great so far. Makes a change to see players laughing with the opposition. I thought Cameroon let themselves down badly by such petty behavior today but overall it’s been very enjoyable. Women’s football has improved so much over the last 4 years as, back then, there was a lot of aimless kicking upfield and losing the ball to the opponents. Not now, the better teams are well drilled and I’ve been impressed by their passing and skills. Not premier league standard but you know that before watching.

I'd rather go down the local park and watch the Junior football on offer.
Think the standard of womens football at international level is dire, I've not watched much but the games I have seen, I don't think I lasted 30 mins without falling asleep.

I watched a bit of it but Cameroon behaved so badly, and the referee was so useless that I gave up.

This was a second-round tie with two outbreaks of industrial action on the Cameroon side after a pair of VAR-led goal decisions, not to mention a spitting incident, an elbow to the jaw of England’s Nikita Parris that prompted only a yellow card and that nasty ankle tackle on Houghton right at the end. Cameroon withdrew their labour with the frequency of a Southern Rail dispute but returned to work twice for this game to earn a place in the annals of women’s football’s development
.

Well done to our girls; I think that Cameroon should be subject to appropriate sanctions, and the Cameroon players who behaved so badly should not be selected for another international match - ever.

Well i have to admit and coming from the viewpoint " of no way am i watching that its not real football "
ive got to say that some of the passing and movement is very good . cant understand tho why they all seem to go for the blond pony tail look , at a glance youd think it was Sweden.

it will be a shame to see it all get ruined post contest when the money arrives and the egos take off but got to say im quietly enjoying it at the moment Thumbs Up

The football is not too bad but the refereeing has been dire and VAR really needs a rethink

That will mean the end of the Cameroon team as they where all guilty, might be better to sack the trainer.
Must add I saw some incidents I have never seen in a football match ever, England players deserve a medal for keeping their cool even though they where warned about it, it would have been a different story had it been the men’s team Whistle

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Had the same issue watching the football on BBC Alba Whistle

Must admit it’s good to see football played without a player going down because someone in the crowd sneezed.

The woman’s game has come a long way in the last 10 years or so. The passing and movement is generally light years beyond what it was, as evidenced by Japan in the 2nd half last night.
The glaring thing that lets it down for me is the standard of goalkeeping. The commentators describe the odd save as “World class” when it’s no more than I would expect a very average youth keeper to make.
Other than that it’s a breath of fresh air, especially when they just get up after being tackled, instead of writhing around like they’re about to take their last breath. Also, the lack of dissent (Cameroon aside) is hopefully a wake up to the one aspect that usually stops me watching the men’s game.
All in all, pretty good.
