Don't panic. A correctly operating detachable towbar, fitted when required into a receiver that is also kept clean and corrosion free, and that hasn't been left in the vehicle permanently to corrode and become loose in its fitting, is fully rated and capable of towing a twin axle caravan.
It's purely up to you. You may prefer to get a fixed for additional peace of mind especially if you want to keep the towball on the vehicle permanently. If you are not the first owner you may also not know the history of towbars fitted to the vehicle or otherwise and therefore prefer a fixed towbar.
I have a detachable towbar but will change it for a fixed before a planned long France trip with the caravan next year when I don't want to have to remove the tow bar and refit frequently (I would remove it to avoid theft) D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

True but that makes removing it between use for storage much more difficult, so people leave them in, which is where issues can start to form. D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
