Airstream and Land Rover

Looks like Airstream have teamed up with Land Rover in new advertising...

Well at least the Airstream looks good, although a bit smaller than I thought.

That's because it is the ''baby'' of the Airstream family! Here in Europe the largest you can buy is the 684 series - twin axle 7 metres long.

This is our 532 Airstream in Morocco -- OK it isn't a Land Rover pulling it BUT we do now have a Disco 4

The Airstreams are lovely, I guess we have more restrictions on what we can tow and don’t have as many suitably large everyday vehicles to tow them.

Yes the Yanks have completely different towing regulations PLUS they tend to use ''trucks'' (large pick-ups) and many of their Travel Trailers (caravans to you and me) are huge plus they use electronic braking.

We can tow the larger trailers but only with 3501 + kg vehicles - that is commercials such as the Transit.

Well our D4 is now 8 years old!! But sorry not keen on the D5 - think I will wait to see what the new Defender will be like. Mind you at 81 I am now getting a bit old to lug an Airstream around so who knows the D4 may make way for something smaller and nippier like a new Jag Laughing

Keep those wheels rolling Ted, your only as old as you feel!

My late father was still pulling a 3.5T Ifor Williams until almost 90 years old and held his LGV licence well into his 80’s.

What a brilliant towcar the first Sorento was. Had both manual and 5 speed auto. (Same colour too).
