Skoda Kodiaq VRS - V8 Shocker

Sitting in some traffic a Skoda Kodiaq pulls alongside and I heard the distinct sound of a V8 engine Thumbs Up - A second glance revealed it to be a VRS model in a rather nice shade of metallic blue. It's lane started moving before me and I listened to a rather nice throaty V8 pull away - or so I thought !!

A quick excited google when I got home revealed this:

Aside from the silly noise the Kodiaq strikes me as a decent family car.

Slimer has one, he says it's great, apart from the seats which are uncomfortable Smile

Uncomfortable seats are a VAG signature feature. Never sat in a VAG manufactured vehicle yet that didn’t feel weird. Whistle

Seats in my 2008 RRS were more comfortable than those in my 2012 version. The 2012 seats are perforated leather too which means they catch bits of dirt where the smooth leather of the older ones were simply wipe clean as required.

I liked to describe my D4 as like wearing a new pair of brogues, the old battered D3 like wearing a well worn pair of trainers. Thumbs Up

Had to lookup what a brogue was Thumbs Up

Yeah, my D3 is like a comfortable pair of nice boots, for example https://www.merrell.com/US/en/moab-2-8-inc...2601M.html 8)

Finding a nice pair of boots is always difficult.

I tried Salomon (Quest 4D Forces) but while they’re well made somehow they’re not as comfortable as Lowa, Oakley or the Merrell’s. Also the soles make them very slippery on certain surfaces which was quite the surprise.

I can recommend Lowa Zephyr Mid TF boots. I’ve used several pairs over the years. You can get them with goretex (says GTX in the model name) or without. When Oakley still manufactured boots they made really comfortable ones that lasted very well. My well-used Lowas broke last winter in Silicon Valley and I found a trekking shop that also catered to local LEOs. The Merrell’s I linked were their most popular sale to those organizations although in black.
